I almost missed you!!

Another busy day! Doctors, vets, school and preparing for an exhibition of my scrapbooks at work. Its all go. Another thing going, sadly, is George's eye. He has been under the weather, picked up a bit and then got hay in his eye and an infection. So the vet says the eye has to go. Feel very sad about it- he'll be plastered in kisses and cuddles when he's home. :-(

Sorry to miss you yesterday, if you dropped by! It was busy day of fete's, friends and feeling rather tired! Same again today-can't complain, as it's nice to do things but will be ready for my bed to night! Hopefully will craft some stuff tomorrow! Meantime, made this one this week. Playing with my promarkers again"xx

Throwback Thursday

Another much loved photo-this actually made it onto the UKS hompage! She's grown up a bitsince then. The pearls embellishing the pages are the ones she pulled off her neck straight after photos! Tinker!

Argh, the light!

Not sure it was on my side today- left my pictures a bit late so they are a bit dark. I ended up to busy today again!! This is a page with a very old photo- my mum and dad. Mum was so pretty- like a china figurine! The cream card stock came  with punched holes for stitching. Very time consuming but looks very pretty and traditional. Other than that, it's a simple page. I like the odd heritage page. Working on one at the moment. I'm doing a small exhibition of my scrapping at work so thought I would do a page specifically for it- John Lewis' 150th Anniversary. should be an interesting project!!

Full of wonder

I love this photo! Seriously LOVE it. My sister in law took it when she was starting out in photography. It is so pretty that I just went overboard on pretty blooms etc. Do you ever look at you children and think "how did I do that??". I do on a daily basis!

The personal touch

I don't always have time to do cards for the childrens friends, and somehow girls ones are always easier. This is for one of Andrews, using his nickname. I felt quite pleased when his friend Charlie saw it and said how cool it was! Better do one for Chaz next then!

No fun in the sun

For me! Had a very long and busy day at work today, so it's a late post. But hey, I made it, and have posted every day bar on for a month. It's been fun actually! I hope you've enjoyed seeing my bits and pieces. hopefully I'll visit my craft room and make a few more tomorrow!

I'm very pretty and floral this weather! Always feels nice to do something pretty and fun.Last of my series of flowery one's here! Need to make some more! Think I will be in the craft room tonight making some for Andrew's friends- no flowers there then! Will you be watching the football tonight? Not me!! Fingers crossed for all you footy fans though!

Bring out the flags!

A happy little card with  bunting! It's happy here because George has been introduced to Scrap and Scribble and they love Uncle George. They are all snugged up together wheeping, purring and chucking! It's very cute. Scrap has already made on escape jumping out my grasp and hiding between a wall and fence panel! In exasperation, I called him a little turd- much to Andrew's horror! Naughty mummy. Believe me- I could have said much worse!! Fortunately we caught him and he is back with his bro's!!
                                                             Please excuse the poops!

Gift card

Today's card (please excuse the rubbish rushed photo!) is for my sister in law. Her birthday is today and I did the card ready to post yesterday, hence a rushed photo on my tablet before running to post office!! She is a very keen gardener so today's card is a gifty card as the pattern on the front is the seeds on the inside. Some quick cutting from my slice and a few flowers added. Think she'll be pleased and hope she has a lovely day! x

You've been framed

Picked up these frames the other week and love them! They are being used a lot= so versatile and cute. Made several cards this week- this being one of them. Didn't manage London this weekend- everyone tired and Emma under the weather. Maybe next week! xx

What day is it?

Daddy Day! Here's the two cards I made. The top one is for my lovely dad who is in Scotland
and the bottom one I for my dad in law who is lovely too and local to us! Flying out the door now to do stuff with Andrew and Emma's dad- my extra lovely husband. Happy fathers day to all dads and especially to the w=ones not with us. You are much loved . xx

Enjoy Life

Bit of a seaside one here! A rocky little cove in Devon near Lynmouth. Its a very simple page using scraps and inks. I've inked and paper pieced to extend the photo- very old school scrapping but it works well.  Enjoying life today in London. Attempting to see the Trooping the colour, London Eye and  Aquarium. Good old merlin passes!! Enjoy your day!! x

another oldie

Cleared up my draft folder and found this! It's very easy to lose track of what you are blogging. And keep blogging! I'm quite pleased with myself, I have managed to maintain the blogging since May 21st and I'm still enjoying it! Catch you later! xx

So tiny

Some how, I missed posting this one, and found it in my drafts! From last year! I've been working on how to photograph- so this one isn't that great. Found this link at Studio Calico, with some great tips on how to do layout photography. I think it's helped!

Little Miss Rainbow and Mr Off Sick

Got my young man at home today complaining of feeling sick. Wonder how long I will stick with the no xbox plan?! Another recent page playing with acrylic paint and ink. Don't get messy often enough! I used letter stickers as a mask and then got messy. I've added a few peel offs. I know they can be a bit naff but the colours work. Many moons ago I was on a blog called A Spoonful of Sprinkle, it was part of a shop. We were doing a series called peel off love!! Caroline had a lot of peel offs to sell!

So these are a couple of golden oldies that I did way back in 2010! May start dragging out a few old favourites. Great to show the new stuff but no harm in remembering where we started!

Who's that girl?

I've tried to make the ribbons on this layout look like the stems of the flowers. Nice bright sunny looking page. I've called it who's that girl  because although it's Emma, it could easily be me. She is a proper mini me! At work today- so must get in the craft room tomorrow!

A fine bromance

These are a few photo's of our visit to Tussauds and Regents Park during half term. I got great shots of Andrew and his friend Leon. They go a bit daft together. Giggles and laughter one minute and arguments the next. A proper bromance!

Baby its cold outside

Hardly the most fitting layout as we have glorious sunshine here! But it's been on my to do list. The extended snow is acrylic paint, bit of glimmer dust and sequins. Catches the light really nicely. Off to warhammer for Andrew and coffee for myself and Emma.

Boo!

I'm at work today and am missing out on the Pimms tent at our local fair! Not fair! A very simple card today. Five minute wonder but they can't all be time consuming works of art, can they! Back in the craft room tomorrow!

Growing up

You can't tell it from the picture, but this is Welly, Andrew's fave cuddly. My husband wanted Andrew to stop sucking his thumb, so he did the "21 day challenge". basically, Welly went away for 21 days as he was the thumb trigger. No more sucking now and , sadly, no more Welly. He broke the habit and now Welly sits in his bed and is hardly seen. I have a big boy now. It's kind of sad but it's all part of the process, I guess!

Fill in the blank

These cards I've made are ideal for personalising. Very simple with natural wood embellishments- ready for me to add some stickers or rub ons for the name. Just got to decide who its for!

Ummm

Can't think of words today. I'm off work and my brain is blubber! Work is very hard work at the moment. Not enough time, not enough people etc. So I am in my craft room every chance I get letting off steam and enjoying the distraction! Several layouts on the way!! x

Time flies

One thing about scrapbooking, is it makes you very aware of time flying! Both in the "look how much my children have grown up!" and "look how long it took me to scrap this photo!!" Both being the case here! Emma's first day in infants school is now her moving onto year4 in junior school come September. Even scarier is Andrew, moving into year 6, doing his 11plus and applying for senior school!! Dreading that! Don't imagine I'll get photos of that first day! Any way, bright sunshiny one of Emma using Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine!

A new subject

To scrap!!

Appropriately named
                                                                             Scrap
                                                                     and Scribble!

How cute are they?!! We got them on Sunday. They are super tiny and soft and huggable but need a bit of time to get used to us. It will be a couple of weeks before we introduce them to George- so we'll see what happens there. So there you have it- two more things to scrap!

Flower power

I've been doing a lot of floral bits and pieces recently, like this card. Using my favoured colour scheme again! The recent cards have been quickies because I wanted to get stuck in again- but I think I will make a bit more time and see if I can go for more details, without them being there, ready to stick on. I quite like the card but it's not very me with the stickers. A bit too traditional for me. Really want to get hold of some nice embellishments-some thing a bit quirky and fun. Any recommendations?

A good excuse for a party!

Just got round to scrapping these pictures! One of Emma's friends had a birthday coinciding with the Queens Jubilee- a perfect party theme. They all had to dress in red, white and blue and did a cat walk show at the end. As you can see, Emma's not a shrinking violet! I was a bit short on patriotic blooms so got busy with pro markers. I think they turned out quite well. the leaves are an American craft stamp on vellum scraps. The paper is embossed doodle bug with a touch of ink to bring out the design. Thanks for dropping by! xx
